Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Dear Parents,               I hope each of you enjoyed the Columbus Day break on Monday.  The kids were glad to be back on Tuesday, and we were glad to have them back!               The PTO met on Tuesday night to discuss more plans for the annual Fall Festival.  This is one of the major fundraisers we have each year, but it is also one of the most fun events we sponsor.  Both our school family and people from the community have come to expect a great evening of good, clean fun, fellowship, and FOOD!  We are going to need lots of help from parents as we have less than a month to prepare.  Each class has chosen a booth or activity to set up and man at the Fall Fest, so please get in contact with your child’s teacher to offer your services.    We are also going to ask each family to bring 2 2-liter bottles of soda, 1 large bag of wrapped candy, and a cake for the cakewalk.  Hopefully, with almost a month advance notice, you will be able to find a good deal on these items.  The sodas are used for our ring toss game, and the candy is given to the children as prizes for some games.  Soda and candy can be delivered to the school any time, but the cakes should be delivered no earlier than Friday, Nov. 13th.  They should be placed on a cardboard or plate that does not have to be returned and be either boxed or wrapped.  Homemade is always good!               Tomorrow the fire prevention team from Weslaco Fire Department will be here at the school doing a program for our students.  They always do a wonderful job educating our children about fire safety, and we are proud to live in a community that offers such important services to our school.                Our ACE junior high students have challenged our 5th/6th grade class to a volleyball game to be played tomorrow from 2:15 – 3:15 p.m.  Students in Kinder through 4th grades will be allowed to purchase tickets to watch the game.  If you would like your child to go to the game, please be sure to send them with $1.00 to cover the cost of a ticket.               Be blessed!
