Cathy Light
Cathy Light has lived here in the Valley for over three years now. She, her husband Gary and their two teenage boys moved from New Hampshire for Gary’s new job at Knapp Medical Center. Aside from substitute teaching at Idea Academy, Science Academy and Weslaco ISD, Cathy taught 5/6 grade at another Christian school using the A Beka curriculum. While in New Hampshire, Cathy worked in Special Education, specifically for children with Autism. Cathy is very involved with the local Relay for Life committee and has served on our local Board of the American Cancer Society. This was an organization that Cathy also worked with while living in New England, serving as a Board member and Advocacy Lobbyist for the ACS. Her other interests include reading, vacationing with her family and anything to do with her new puppy Max. Cathy loves to incorporate art projects into her lesson plans to spark the creative talents of her students as well as providing them with a love of reading, and an appreciation of God’s world around us through science and nature.
